Cookie Policy
Last Updated: 23 August 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies we use on neuronsearchlab.com, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and provide analytics information to site owners. Some cookies are set by the site you're visiting (first-party cookies); others are set by third-party services the site uses.
Cookies we use
We only set analytics cookies when you have explicitly accepted via our cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics cookies are placed on your device.
Strictly necessary cookies
These are essential for the Site to function and cannot be disabled. They do not track you.
| Cookie | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|
| nsl-consent | Stores your cookie consent preference (localStorage, not a cookie) | Persistent (until cleared) |
Analytics cookies (consent required)
These are only set if you click “Accept” on our cookie banner.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics 4 | Distinguishes unique visitors for aggregated site analytics. No personally identifiable information is stored. | 14 months |
| _ga_8F9Q8BF35H | Google Analytics 4 | Maintains session state for our specific GA4 property. | 14 months |
| ph_phc_* (distinct_id) | PostHog (EU) | Identifies a returning visitor for product analytics and session recording continuity. | 1 year |
| ph_phc_* (session) | PostHog (EU) | Tracks the current browsing session for analytics and session recording. | Session |
Session Recording
When you accept cookies, we use PostHog to record your session. This means we capture a visual replay of your visit — mouse movements, clicks, scrolls, and the content of pages you view — to help us identify usability issues and improve the Site. Session recordings are stored on PostHog's EU-region infrastructure and retained for 12 months. Recording is never active unless you have accepted cookies.
How to manage your preferences
Change your cookie preference
Click the “Manage cookies” link in the footer of any page to reopen the cookie banner and change your preference. Withdrawing consent reloads the page so analytics stops running for that session.
Browser settings
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking all cookies may affect Site functionality. Most browsers allow you to refuse third-party cookies specifically.
Opt out of Google Analytics
You can also install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on to prevent GA4 from collecting your data across all sites.
